A simple UI framework for java? Swing and RCP seem to be overkill for prototyping a quick UI. Does anyone know of anything smaller and easier to use. I started to look at the Spring richclient stuff.. but I don't want to get too far down the UI rabbit hole...

which javascript framework I should choose? I am web developer (beginner) who wants to make cool website UIs with dinamically loading html content. I was using Jquery for simple animations and fade stuffs, but it seems that Jquery animations are not as smooth as Flash (when you have heavy webpage full of animations), and I googled "javascript frameworks". I found out that there are a lot of javascipt frameworks that allows you to create Website, similar to Desktop Application UI. It was the answer for my problems, I always wanted to create desktop like UI apps for web. But here is a problem: I found out that there are a lot of js frameworks out there. I can't choose what to learn. Can you suggest me the framework that will do the stuffs I want? 1) I want the framework to have nice UI, and also I want opportunity to design them myself, make some smooth animations too. 2) I want my website to be SEF (Search Engine Friendly) Also I have some misunderstandings about Javascript Frameworks. I know how php MVC frameworks are built, I often use CodeIgniter, and I know that Model gets data from MySql and View produces data to client (I know what Controller does). But how works Js MVC ? I can imagine what View and even Controller does, but what about model? what does model in Js in CLIENT-SIDE? And also can I use Codeigniter server-side and some other JS frameworks client side? Also I have coded in Js, but have never coded such kind of Code that these framework needs, I used them for animations only, as I mentioned above. So can you help me to choose THE Framework I need? And explain these stuffs that I can't understand?

Microsoft Azure: release schedule? Anyone know the release schedule for Azure? When will it be available to developers (now, I think), when will it be beta, when will it be released? How firm are the dates? Is there any way to get an early start (like building apps using certain technologies on hosted Windows Server 2008)? Please cite sources. What C/C++ Book(s) should I read, learn and put to good use? Multi-threading and mutexes in C are cool. (struct sockaddr*)&myAddrInfo dose not scare me. My goal is the reach the point where I am able to use a framework for UI (maybe QT), connect to databases, have some TCP/IP connectivity for my little apps, use a database, crawl the web and store data from websites etc. Please recommend me a book or two that you've read or personally know them to be good. What is the name of this widget/control? I am trying to find a UI component for the Flex framework but I don't know what it's called so I can't even search for it. Starting up Magicka help? I tried to launch magicka after recently downloading it, and nothing happened. Who makes the best developer tools for mobile application development? Who do you think makes the best development tools for smartphones or overall software development? I have always felt that Microsoft provides the best designers, debuggers, and source editors with Visual Studio. I have written Windows Phone applications, Android applications, but I have never used Xcode to write applications for the iPhone. I would like to know what your experience has been with the three platforms I mentioned or others like: RIM's Blackberry SDK, PalmOS, or Nokia's Symbian. With my experience, I think Microsoft's Visual Studio is the best. I think they provide an extremely awesome IDE and rich development framework. I think I get the fastest time to market with Visual Studio. Their intellisense has always been top-notch except for the lack fo C++/CLI support in 2010. The Expression Blend UI Designer is very easy to use which complements MVC architecture. The .NET Framework and Silverlight Tools for Windows Phone is very rich. I never find myself re-inventing the wheel like I do on other platforms. I think the Adroid Development Tools for Eclipse are pretty well done, but could be improved. I think the UI designer is sub-par and tend to write the XML layouts by hand instead. I think the debugger is alright, but no where near as good as VS. A simple typo while writing your XML layouts causes the Activity to crash with virtually no feedback. I think SQLite databases are fairly easy to integrate; however, I still think MS SQL Server CE is better. What is your favorite? I have no experience with Xcode and the iOS SDK, so I am interested in why you might like that.

Can you save my beast a trip to the pc docs please? Hiya :) I have a 2nd hand computer which is running windows xp, it's quite an old 1, dell optiplex gx270. It does the trick but boy o boy the amount of (scuse my lingo) crap that is on it :O it has less then 20gb (18.6 to be exact and 12.8 of which is used) and has 512mb of ram. I'm wanting to take everything off it so it's sort of new-ish lol ... most would say waste of time, but I like it and like I said it does everything I want it to, I just want to clear the clutter :) I do run registry cleaners and defrag every now and then, but I just can't help but look at the amount of used space and think "wtf!? 12 gigs of stuff I don't even know if I need. What's the "trendy" technique for web programming today? In 2006 i stopped programming in web platform. In that time i was following ServerCommunity "style" of programming. I am talking about the tiers trendy style in that time. i know still that's trendy but i have heard of MVC and other new "ways" that have come out. I remember when DotNetNuke "style" came out. It was pretty good. So, I have the whole Visual Studio 2008 suite, 3.5 framework, silverlight, etc etc. I need to make the best use possible of the new advances out there. Fatal error on EQ2, tried everything i can think of.. please help?
